BGMI Name Generator

Battlegrounds Mobile India uses the same naming engine as PUBG Mobile, which means the same Unicode trick works: paste a styled name and it renders for every player who sees your profile, kill feed entry, or clan roster.

About the BGMI Name Generator

One thing to plan for before you spend a Rename Card: BGMI counts characters, not visual width. Decorative brackets and symbols eat into the same limit your letters do, so a heavily decorated tag has room for a shorter name.

Step by step

How to use the BGMI Name Generator

Enter a word or leave it blank, generate ideas, copy the one you like, and paste it into the name field.

  1. Add a word (optional)

Type a word you want in the name, such as your handle or a theme, or leave it blank for fully random ideas.

  2. Generate ideas

Press Generate to get a fresh batch of names. Keep pressing for more: the ideas are different every time.

  3. Copy your favourite

Press Copy on the name you want. It copies with its styling intact.

  4. Paste it in

Paste it into the display name or nickname field. Very tall or heavily decorated names can be shortened by the app, so check how it looks once it is in.

Most games and apps style the display name, not the account login. If a name is rejected, it is usually the login field, which only accepts plain characters.

Get it right

Tips and common mistakes

Tips

  • Keep the base name to five or six characters before you add brackets or symbols: BGMI has a strict character limit, and decorative glyphs count against it, so a shorter name leaves room for more decoration.
  • Test the name in-game with a free source before using a Rename Card: create a secondary account, paste the styled name there, and confirm it saves correctly. A Rename Card is a consumable, and a rejected name wastes it.
  • Bold and squared styles stay readable in the killfeed at the small sizes BGMI uses. Thin decorative alphabets and heavy glitch styles can become indistinct at killfeed size, even if they look great on the profile screen.

Common mistakes

  • Adding too many symbols around a short name: a three-letter name with five symbols on each side exceeds the character count and gets rejected on paste. Count the total characters including every bracket and glyph.
  • Assuming a style that worked before still works after a BGMI update: the game occasionally tightens its Unicode filter in patches. If a style that used to save starts bouncing, try a plainer one.
  • Spending a Rename Card on a name you have not previewed in-game first: what looks balanced in a preview can feel different once you see it above a hero at killfeed scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Rename Card to change my BGMI name?

Yes. Your first name change is free when you create the account; after that BGMI requires a Rename Card, earned through events or bought with UC. Copy your styled name first so you are not composing it under pressure once the card is used.

Why did BGMI reject my stylish name?

Two usual causes. Either the name exceeded the character limit once symbols were counted, or it contained a glyph range the moderation filter blocks. Try a plainer style first to confirm the name itself is accepted, then add decoration back gradually.

Is a BGMI name the same as a PUBG Mobile name?

They are separate accounts on separate servers, but the naming rules and accepted characters behave the same way. A style that works in one almost always works in the other.

My BGMI name is already taken. What can I do?

Add a bracket, symbol, or one of the styled variants above. This changes the underlying characters, so it counts as a different name from the plain-text one already taken. If BGMI still rejects it, the note above on why BGMI rejects certain names covers the characters to avoid.

Is the BGMI Name Generator free to use?

Yes. The BGMI Name Generator is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no limits on how much text you convert or how many times you copy it.
