This generator handles it by styling the base letter and reattaching the original accent mark on top, which is why coração keeps its tilde and cedilla no matter which style on this page you pick.

- Portuguese nasal vowels (ã, õ), the cedilla (ç), and all accented letters carry fully into styled text on this page, including bold, cursive, and small-caps styles.
- For a bio where an accented city name or phrase matters, such as São Paulo or coração, use a style that handles tildes and cedillas cleanly: the result card shows which characters rendered correctly.
- Use Script Bold or Fraktur styles for creative bios and profile names where both the Latin letterforms and the Portuguese accents should render together.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a style and assuming all accented Portuguese characters will be present: not every Unicode Mathematical alphabet has defined code points for every accented Latin letter, and this page marks which accents are supported per style.
- Pasting styled Portuguese text into a @username: @handles are ASCII-only, so ã, ç, and other accented characters will be rejected regardless of styling.
- Using a Glitch or Zalgo style for a Portuguese phrase with accent marks: the extra combining marks from those effects compete with the accent marks and make characters like ã and ê unreadable.

Each one is really a plain letter plus its own mark under the hood (ã is a with a tilde, ç is c with a cedilla), so the base letter gets styled and the mark is placed back on top afterward.
Is there a difference between Brazilian and European Portuguese here?
No. Brazilian and European Portuguese share the same alphabet and the same accented letters; the differences between them are in vocabulary, pronunciation, and some spelling conventions, not in which letters exist. A word styles identically regardless of which variety it is written in.
Do the nasal diphthongs like ão and ãe style correctly?
Yes. Each character in a diphthong such as ão or ãe is handled on its own: the ã the same way as any other accented vowel, and the o or e as a plain styled letter, so the full diphthong comes out styled together.
